The pie charts provide the result of a survey and show factors which influenced on students' decision to study at a particular UK university in the years 1987 and 2007.
Looking at the charts, it is immediately obvious that finding a suitable degree courses was the most significant reason for students choosing a university in UK in both years.
In detail, the percentage of students who chose their university because of suitable degree courses was quite similar in both years, accounting for over a third. Similarly, the other two factors which were almost unchanged: quality of resources and quality of teaching. In 1987, the proportion of students considering quality of resources as a factor to choose their university was 21%, this figure decreased slightly in 20007 to 17%. Quality of teaching in both years didn't change much, at 15% in 1987 and 18% in 2007.
In comparison with the aforementioned factors, distance to parents' house and good sports and social activities changed significantly. In which, the distance to live away from parents' house was the least concerned in 1987, at 10%, but it became the second most important reason to study at a UK college in 2007, with over a fifth. In contrast, the worries related to supporting sports and social activities accounted for 19% in 1987, however, it became the least important factor to decide whether students chose a university in UK or not (at only 6%).
