The pie charts indicate changes in the proportions of energy produced in a country from
1983 to 2003. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
make comparisons where relevant
The percentages of power generating in a nation by six various sources: hydropower, oil, nuclear power, coal, natural gas, were given by two pie charts, namely 1983 and 2003.
At first glance, it is clear that there was an unfairly distrubtion for electricity production in both 1983 and 2003, especially from oil. However, in the duration of two decades, noticeable was that except for oil and hydropower, the rest of producing methods rose significantly.
In 1983, oill was the dominant with nearly hafl of the total at 42%. In close places were coal and nuclear power, capturing nearly a four at 23% and 20%. The remaining 15% of power was produced by using hydro power and natural gas, with the figures being 11% and 4% respectively.
Twenty years later, in 2003, both nuclear power and natural gas had a positive trend to reach almost one-four of the total. Conversely, even the first place of power production was still oil, there was a slight fall by 5% to 38%. Similarly, power from coal witnessed a dramatical drop with the proportion being 13%. Surprisingly, hydro power was still remaining in the time given.
In summary, it seemed that nuclear power and natural gas gradually replaced the dominant of oil.
