The two pie charts illustrate the primary reasons why people came to and left the United Kingdom in 2007.
Overall, it is clear that people came to the United Kingdom and went to another country for a definite job. The least purpose of immigrating was no reason given and few people left the country for formal study.
To start with, having a definite job is almost similar in ratios for immigration and emigration accounted for 30% and 29%, respectively. Meanwhile, more than a fifth of people looked for work outside the country compared to people who went to the United Kingdom at 12%. Formal study is more popular to people who migrated in the country accounting to just over a quarter of the total ratios, while a small minority went to another country to do their study.
The proportion of those moving to join a family were quite similar for immigration and immigration. Then, more than a third of people had ‘other’ reason or did not state a reason why they emigrated, this accounted for only just over a fifth of people who immigrated.
