Overall, despite apparently significant changes, the sports centre retains the basic elements of gym, changing room and reception, with the addition of a cafe, leisure pool, dance studios and sports hall.
Currently, there is a 25 m pool in the centre, with the changing room situated centre left and seating to the right. Likewise, reception is on the south side and protrudes from the block housing the 25 m pool. Similarly, there are two outdoor courts, one to the east and the other to the west of the sports' centre. While the outdoor courts are in separate buildings, 25 m pool, changing room, reception, seating and the gym are all in the same building.
University sports' centre will be altered considerably with the execution of proposed development plans. All the facilities of the sports' centre will be housed in the same roof.
