Essay topics:

The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps show how the public park "Grange" has evolved since it opened in 1920.

As can be seen from the picture, Grange Park has been dramatically transformed after the construction of several changes over the given period.

In 1920, visitors could enter the park from the Southern entrance on Eldon Street or the Northern entrance on Arnold Avenue. There was a fountain in the center of the park which visitors could see easily, but now it is replaced by a rose garden and surrounded by seats. On the left-hand side of the fountain was a stage for musicians, knocked down to make way for an amphitheater for concerts.

Grange Park has also opened a new area for visitors. There is a children’s play area built on the original site of a pond for water plants in the north-east corner of the park. A newly constructed cafe is constructed next to the children's play area. A glasshouse located opposite was destroyed and replaced by a water feature. Besides, many rose gardens and seats disappeared to extend the place of the park.
