Essay topics:

The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The blueprint illustrates the renovation of the Southwest airport planned to be finished in the following year.

Overall, it can be seen clearly that the number of gates will witness a dramatic change. Another striking feature is the rise in facilities and services for customers.

Looking at the departure area and the arrival area, the location of the two areas will be unchanged, but more entrances will be built there. At the departure area, the check-in zone will be moved to the opposite side to make way for a bag drop zone, and the café will be also relocated to the left corner of the entrances. The arrival area will be expanded in the right corner of the entrance to construct a new car hire zone, and on the same side of this zone, there will be the location of a café and an ATM.

In addition to those changes, some shops will be constructed in the area between the security passport control area and the boarding hall, which will allow passengers to buy something before their flight. The most significant change in the design of the Southwest airport is at the boarding hall. The construction will be enlarged into a Y-shaped hall, and the number of gates will increase from 8 gates to 18 gates around the hall. In addition, a sky train will be erected at the center of the hall as a replacement for the old walkway.
