Overall, Iceland is mostly to be populated by productive ages while elder generation decreased except for the eldest group.
In 1990, the people age 25 to 54 stood up as the highest proportion, holding up to over 30 percent of the population then continued to grow the highest in 2020, at almost half of population. Meanwhile, the eldest group was the lowest and leveled off in the next 10 years then grew consecutively about 3 percent in the next two decades.
The figure for teenagers experienced a gradual fall year by year, finishing at just below one in fifth in 2020. Similarly, the group of 15-24 showed the same trend as the teenager's one, with no more than one in ten. Lastly, people aged 55 to 64 declined to at 10 percent with a stagnant proportion between 2000 and 2010.
