In some countries, many more people are choosing to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Nowadays, a large range of people decided to live alone. In recent years, most people, especially in the developing countries, likely to opt for living alone. What I personally think is that it has some disadvantages while some people think that it also has several advantages. In this following essay, we will discuss both the benefits and drawbacks.

In the first place, living alone has a few disadvantages. Obviously, living alone is costly due to the increase in population and housing price. It will be also more difficult to find a house at a suitable price. Moreover, living alone means that we can't receive any help from our families. Therefore, whenever we get troubles, overcoming these issues is very hard. In addition, living solo solely can be very dangerous if we are too young because thieves are able to break into our house at any time to steal valuables and money, sometimes they may even kill us. Last but not least, when living alone, people can feel homesick, they miss all the members of their family. Consequently, this lifestyle is not their favorite choice anymore.

Despite having some drawbacks, this living trend also brings people lots of advantages. Firstly, we will be very comfortable if we live alone. Also, there are private things that we need to do, while we do not want to let others know, such as writing diary, eating snack all day and so on. Secondly, for those who have been pampered by parents since childhood, when living alone, they will learn how to be more independent and more mature. Thirdly, living alone can give us a hand in bringing a lot of opportunities in order to discover yourself such as strengths, weaknesses, motivations, behaviors, and desires. Finally, living alone can make us appreciate others more. Taking apart for a long time will actually make us more cherish. Also, we will recognize everybody with a whole new angle. It also means that people will love each other more. Accordingly, there will not have fightings and quarrels anymore.

To sum up, living alone has not only the advantages but also the disadvantages. However, I personally believe that we should live with parents or relatives until we are old enough to live alone.
