In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case?

Homeownership has become a pivotal issue in some countries due to lack of land availability which makes some citizens tend to rent. Regarding this issue, people’s choice in order to have their own home is a more plausible cause of several reasons which will be elaborated briefly in the essay.
Living in a lease home or apartment has become a new lifestyle and suitable choice for inhabitants, peculiarly those who live in urban areas. The high market demand for residences causes an increase in price whereas the land for its establishment is quite scarce. Apart from it, renting a house is chosen cause of its flexibility, people are able to move conveniently whenever they want and they do not need to pay maintenance costs if the facilities are broken, for example, a businessman who operates his business activities in some regions or a student who comes from a small village and has to move to the capital city. Despite all the positive impacts of staying in a rental home, yet it does not provide an official house certificate which is useful as valuable asset ownership.
Owning a home presents many advantages, particularly for the long term period, as well as a mention above that it will be a great investment in the future because the prices of the home will rise up significantly throughout the year, for example in the ’90s, the prices of a standard home located in Jakarta were approximately IDR 300 million while currently need to pay more than threefold. Furthermore, by having their residence, dwellers are able to devise rely on their preferences and necessities, such as how many bedrooms that they want, how the kitchen looks like, and how to design its green space.
To conclude, however renting a home will give flexibility and affordable prices but owning a residence is more important for future life because it will become a meaningful investment.
