Essay topics:

Some organisations believe that their employees should dress smartly. Others value quality of work above appearance.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

About the key feature of an employee, the society is polarized into two groups. Many of today’s companies believe that smart clothing stands a significant role for their staff. However, others may find that working performance is more important. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my own opinion.
On one hand, organisations believe that smart clothing would build up their professional image. Given that, a smart outfit can give customers good first impression of the firm that lead them to think the firm is well organised. In this way, customers will have more confidence about the organisation and willing to choose their service which will drive income of the corporation. We can refer to a survey conducted by the Hong Kong University which indicates that many people find image of a company only by their staff's outlook.
On the other hand, other firms find that high quality of work is the key to make their customer to stay. Other than image of a company, people value what quality of the product or service they can get when they are considering of purchasing again with the same organisation. For example, my friend always eats in the same canteen only because it have the best fried chicken in town although the staff there do not have smart uniform. Therefore, one of the key features for keeping the client is to give a good work.
From my point of view, working quality is essential for a company in long term because it will increase their customer's loyalty of the company. In contrast, smart outlook of employees can only give people an impressive first impression which only stands for a short period of time and maybe not sustainable.
