Some people believe that all children in school should be required to learn at least one foreign language. However, others say that those who are not talents should not have to learn.
What is your opinion?
Children learning foreign languages has become a controversial issue nowadays, especially for the parents. some adults claim that kids should study at least one language different from their own. Meanwhile, some people argue that parents should not force children with lack of aptitude to learn languages.
Needless to say, study another language is essential. Firstly, they point out that children who are able to speak foreign languages fluently often have a deep knowledge of many different cultures around the world. As a result, not only they get an open-minded but also be more successful. For instance, a lot of businessmen often focused on studying foreign languages when they were a little child. By that way, they can have the awareness about their partner’s cultures and makes a good impression on them.
On the other hand, opponents of required foreign language classes believe that these classes are unsuitable with some children. they hold the belief that forcing a foreign language on kids who lack of necessary skills will hurt their fragile soul, as well as low down their score or even put children under pressure. For example, if parents keep on making children to attend language classes against their own can create a hostility attitude towards foreign languages. Furthermore, this wrong method may lead to some serious consequences such as stress, depression, anxiety or other problems.
In conclusion, although there are arguments both for compulsory and optional languages learning. It seems to me that students are more likely to be successful if they have a chance to learn about another culture and being able to communicate with foreigners.
