Essay topics:

Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Many people hold the view that accept a negative situation is preferable when necessary, while others are not willing to stuck in such situations and hope to improve.

Admittedly, both of the opinions are acceptive. Based on my knowledge, some people prefer to remain current unsatisfied situations. I think two explanations can account for this kind of decision. The first is some people are not that aggressive in such a competition-centered society. That is to say, even the situations may not friendly to them, they can still remain a peaceful mind, for example ,they choose to give up a higher wage to maintain the work-life balance. Secondly, one's talent and ability sometimes have boundaries, in which case, it's beyond ability for some people to improve his situations, thus you can't say it's unwise for them to choose to stand still.

On the contrary, for those people who always want to enhance the situations, their pursuits are also valuable and logical. I believe that many can receive great feeling of satisfactory from progress-making, from the success of some kinds of competitions. Our benefit-driven nature encourages us to try the best to get to a higher level, regardless of the difficulties. In many vivid cases, addicts succeed to give up using drugs and take the responsibilities to feed a family; the handicapped overcome difficulties and fulfill their life's goals. The willing to improve negative situations can sometimes not only gain a temporary benefit, but also can change one's life.

However, comparing to ancient times, we can't deny that every day we are standing in a more developed and more challengeable society. Man's will to improve and change foster the innovation and revolution, and create glorious material civilization. So, to conclude, I must say that for everyone the most priority is to get bad situations improved, in which way our civilization makes progress. But the balance must be paid attention to, sometimes acceptance is always an option.
