The provided line graph compares the source of electricity generated in France by four various kinds, namely Thermal, Nuclear, Hydroelectric and renewable from 1980 to 2012
It is clear that the amount of both Nuclear and renewable increased over the research period. By contrast, the electricity source produced by thermal and hydroelectric fell gradually during the period.
In 1980, around 50 TWh source of electricity generated by nuclear in France in comparison with the negligible amount of renewable. As can be seen from the chart that, over the next 32 years, the electricity source by nuclear was by far the most popular source of electricity with over 450 Twh before decreasing slightly to 430 TWh. Meanwhile, although the figure for renewable roughly kept stable, but then rose slowly to nearly 25 TWh until 2005.
The figure of Therm was the largest overall source production with over 100 TWh in the year 1980, whereas that of hydroelectricity generated only around 70 TWh. The amount of produced both Therm and Hydroelectricity witnessed a small fluctuation before remaining steady around 50 TWh at the end of the year.
