The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and 2018 in one area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and the charts show how it was distributed.

The given table depicts the police budget from different sources while the pie chart illustrates the amount of money consumed for three purposes, measured in two years 2017 and 2018, in a certain settlêmnt in Britain.

In general, the police budget in that area increased after two years and the national government still played a vital role in contributing sources. As for spending, the quantity of money paid for salaries of officers and staff outnumbered spending on technology, building and transport.

In 2017, the total figure for police funds witnessed an upward trend, from around 300 million pounds to approximately 320 million pounds in the following year. Among the three sources, the national government still remain the leading source over two years, contributing more than two-sixths of the total, 175.5 million and 177.8 million respectively. The amount of money from local taxes also jumped considerably by more than 10 million pounds to reach 102.3 million pounds in 2018. Other sources (such as grants) accounted for the smallest part, at around 38 million pounds for two years. It is also clearly seen that the figure given by the other sources seemed to have a negligible fluctuation between 2017 and 2018.

About budgetary allocation, spending on salaries for officers and staff, despite a fall from 75 percent to 69 percent, made up the largest part. It is considered to be the strongest evidence to prove that police paid high attention to their employees than other aspects. Regarding of the amount of money consumed on building and transport, it showed to decline in the alteration, remaining 17 percent over two years. Last was spending on technology, with 8 percent in 2017 and 14 percent in 2018. In spite of having a remarkable growth of approximately 6 percent, it was still the lowest
