The table indicated the sources of the police budget while the charts illustrate how money was given out in an area of Britain over two years (2017, 2018).

Overall, the police budget mainly came from National Government sources. It is also noticeable that spending on salaries for officers and staff accounted for the highest proportion.

According to the table, in 2018, the police budget increased by about £15 million compared with 2017. The National Government was the biggest funder in both years, the amount of money saw a rise from £175.5 million in 2017 to £177.8 million in 2018. There was a significant increase in local taxes source from £91.2 million in 2017 to £102.3 million in 2018 while the money that came from other sources increased minimally by £0.5 million.

The employees’ wages saw a slight rise of 6% in 2018. The spending on technology demonstrated a different pattern, climbing to 14% in the same year. In both years, the proportion of buildings and transport stayed almost unchanged at 17%.
