The table and charts show the police budget sources and how the money was spent in a specific area of Britain from 2017 to 2018.
It is clear that the budget increased slightly and there are significant changes related to how it was distributed.
Looking at the table, in 2017, national government and local taxes supported to police budget were £175.5 million and £91.2 million respectively, while the amount of money from other sources was the lowest, at £38 million. In the following year, it was seen a dramatic increase in local taxes by £11.1 million, whereas the sum of two other sources was only £2.8 million.
About how the money was spent, in 2017, there are about 75% the money that was used for paying officers and staff salaries. Technology accounts for 8% in this year but it has been rose to 14% in the next year. Because the money was used for building and transport still remain at 17% so the amount of money for salaries still decrease respectively down to 69%.
