The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and 2018 in one area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and the charts show how it was distributed.

The given table and charts illustrate the budget in the years 2017 and 2018 of the police in an area of Britain. The table gives information about sources of the money while purposes for the budget were demonstrated by the two charts.

Overall, it is clear that the police budget experienced an upward trend from 2017 to 2018 and the amount of money spent on each purpose did not change much between 2017 and 2018.

As can be seen from the table, most of the money came from the national government and saw a slight rise between 2017 and 2018, from 175.5m to 177.8m. Additionally, the money from local taxes increased considerably from 91.2m in 2017 to 102.3m in 2018. Besides, the budget from other sources just constitutes a small part of the total budget and stayed almost unchanged for two years.

Moreover, the tables showed that the majority of the police budget was spent on salaries for officers and staff, with 75% in 2017 and 69% in 2018. In contrast, the money spent on technology was the smallest part of the three proposes. The spending on this purpose in 2017 was just 8% of the total and almost doubled in 2018 at 14%. In addition, the money spent on buildings and transport remained stable at 17% in the two years.
