The table depicts how many female and male workers and numbers of factories were in Wales and UK between 1851 and 1901.
Overall, it is clear that the total employees and the factories in UK were reduced over the time period. The male employees were relatively high compared to the female employees and it came to almost similar numbers in 1901.
In 1851, the total employees were 477,100 including 287,100 males and 190,000 females. They were worked in 225 factories. After a decade males were dropped by 144,680 and females by 30,000. Factories were risen by 2 numbers.
In 1871, there were 140,123 workers in UK, similarly high males rate, 80,123 and 60,000 females respectively. Remarkably, numbers of factories were almost tripled compared with last two decades and it further increased to 721 in 1881, where had 126,132 employees including 50,000 female workers.
When compared the next two years 1891 and 1901, Males commitment was 65,000 and 31,000 respectively. In 1901, females were 30,000 that was much similar to the male figure. The least number of employees were found in 1901 which was 61,000.
