The table illustrates how many employees and factory in the England and Wales from 1851 to 1901.
Overall, there were an downward trend employees include males and females, while factories shows a upward trend number in the surveyed of 50 years.
The period of ten years from 1851 and 1861 displayed the highest number employees, with 477.100 and 297.780 respectively, although there were not too many factories at the same time, which were the lowest factories of all sectors. However, it appeared trend which dropped down the number of employees until 1901, including male and female. Certainly, the number of male and female employees became the lowest in 1901, with 31.000 and 30.000 respectively. Beside, although this trend described employes did not prefer working at factories, the number of factories still reached the highest number at 722 in 1881, which were near 100 higher than the second highest number of factories in 1891.
