The table compares two primary schools with the proportions of various issues encountered by pupils between 2005 and 2015.
It is clear that school A had significant higher proportions of various issues encountered by pupils than school B in both two years. However, school A, after decade of improvement, saw a downside trend of the proportions of different issues faced by pupils, while school B witnessed a opposite pattern.
In the year 2005, the proportions of pupils who faced problems in behavioural area accounted for 40% and 42% separately, while students with various academic problems in percentage were around 30%. By contrast, in school B, the proportions of children who encountered problems in two areas were below 15%. And school B had most children in facing problems of listening, verbal expression and concentration which were 11%, 14% and 15% in percentage.
By 2015, school A dramatically closed the gap of the proportions of pupils faced behavioural problems between two schools to 3% to 6% in percentage. Although the proportions of problems in reading and handwriting remained unchanged or even slightly increased by 1%, in spelling, listening and verbal expression declined to 25%, 20% and 21% respectively. On the other hand, students in school B with problems in various area increased about 1% to 6% compared with 2005.
