The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

The table illustrates the information about the subway systems in 6 cities: London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto, Los Angeles.
Overall, the three oldest underground systems are larger and serve significantly more passengers than the other newer systems.
To begin with, the first subway was built in 1863 in London with 394 kilometers of route. Every year, 775 million rail users go to subway stations in London. This number is lower than that in Paris at 1191 million, while the total length in the capital of France is about halved that in London. Especially, the number of passengers per year in Tokyo is the highest at 1927 million.
Based on the information, the subway in Washington DC is the largest in three newer systems at 126km, followed by 28km in Los Angeles and 11km in Kyoto. The number of rail users using the subway in Kyoto each year is the lowest at 45 million. The underground system in Los Angeles is the newest (it was built in 2001); however, the number of passengers per year in Los Angeles is higher than that in Kyoto at 50 million.
