The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The following table shows when underground railway systems of six cities opened as well as their length and how many passengers, they carry each year.
As can be observed from the table, six different cities of London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto, and Los Angeles are surveyed. Whereas the oldest system belongs to London, it opened in 193, it has the longest route by 394 km. Followed by Paris, Tokyo, DC, Kyoto, and LA in terms of opening dates as 1900, 1927, 1976, 1981, and 2001, respectively. The length of these cities follows more or less the same order as opening dates. Routes of systems in Paris, Tokyo, and DC are in a row 199, 155, and 126 km. However, although LA underground railway system is far newer than Kyoto, system route of LA is longer than Kyoto, 28 km in comparison with 11 km.
Turning to passengers per year in millions, Tokyo subway system transports the maximum number of passengers in a year which is 1927 million. The closest figure to Tokyo is Paris by 1191 million. London with 775 million, DC with 144 million, and LA with 50 million are placed after London. The least number of passengers is carried by Kyoto subway system with 45 million.
Overall, it is clear from the table that the pattern of route and opening date order is similar together except LA. London has the oldest and longest system, while Tokyo subway transports the greatest number of individuals each year. Unlike France and England, two countries of USA and Japan have two distinctive cities in this table.
