The table below gives the information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.
The table uses the percentage as an indicator to show the amount spent on three categories by five nations(Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Turkey) in 2002.
To begin, all five countries had spent mostly on food/drinks/tobacco. Clothing/footwear had been their second priority, followed by leisure/ education. A significant drop from food/drinks/tobacco to clothing/footwear and recreation/education is evident from the table in all the countries.
Turkey had been the top-most user of food/drinks/tobacco(32.14%) and leisure/education. And, it had been the second largest consumer of clothing/footwear. Italy had beaten Turkey by accounting 9% of human wearables purchase. In contrast to Turks, who spent most of their money on two products, Swedish people had spent low on two products: food/drinks/tobacco(15.77%), wearables(5.4%), when compared to others countries.
Ireland, Sweden, and Turkey had never topped the list. But, Turkey and Italy had been in first place twice and once respectively showing their people's interest in these categories. Majorly, unlike the other four countries, Turks had put almost half the nations purchase on those three categories alone.
