Given is the table revealing the popularity of cycling to work among citizens of the various regions in the UK during the period from 2001 to 2011.
It is evident that the biggest change was seen in inner London and not a single area in the Uk experienced a decease in the number of inhabitants using bikes to work.
To specify, from over 43000 of population traveling by bike, Inner London saw a soar to a staggering of over 100 000 people using bikes, which had the highest change of 144%. The second in terms of using bikes was outer London with over 49000 residents in 2011, however, its percentage of change was the lowest at 45%.
Brighton and hove, meanwhile saw the second biggest increase in the number of residents cycling to work with 109%, but Briston was the UK’ second city in terms of total numbers if cycling commuters with just under 16000 in 2011. Strikingly, figures for other eight areas were below 10 thousand in both years.
