The table illustrates the proportion of population who are over 65 years old inclusive in three different countries (Canada, Germany and UK) in years 1988, 2000 and 2030. Overall, the highest rate of population aged and above is expected to be the largest in 2030. The lowest percentage could be seen in 2000. The rate of Germany was generally higher than the other two countries.
It is clear from the data that in Germany there are most people who live long compared to UK where it is the smallest rate of longevity in all three years. From a relatively small percentage contribution of just over 20% in 1988, it rose slightly until the year 2000 reaching just over 25% and it is expected to grow steadily to reach exactly 30,42%.
The data suggest that the rate of long-lived people in UK is lower than in the other two countries. The rate in UK was relatively lower than in Canada (14,23% and 16,32% respectively). We can see that it is expected to rise till 20,35% in UK and 26,35% exactly in year 2030.
