The table below shows information and predictions regarding the change in percentage of population aged 65 and above in three countries
The table illustrates the alteration in the proportion of population aged 65 and over in three different nations during the period of 42 years, beginning in 1988.
Overall, it is clear that all three countries are expected to experience an upward trend during the whole period. Moreover, Germany’s figure is predicted to dominate the chart.
According to the chart, the figure for Germany’s population was the highest one in the initial year, at 20%. Moreover, the next 40 years are forecasted to experience a significant growth in the proportion of German seniors.
The trend was totally the same when it came to the remaining nations. Accounting for 16% in 1988, the percentage of Canadian residents aged over 65 then saw a steady increase to 21% in 2000, being predicted to reach a peak of 26% in 2030. Likewise, about 14% of people came from Britian in the initial period. Despite the trivial growth in 2000 and the prediction to rise to 20% in 2030, the proportion of Britian residents will remain the lowest number compared to other countries.
