The table below shows statistics about the top five countries for international tourism in 2012 and 2013

The table below compares the top five nations in terms of the number of visitors and the amount of money they spent over a period of two years.

In the years 2012 and 2013, France was clearly the most popular tourist destination in the globe. During the same time span, however, the United States received by far the highest income from tourists.

In 2012, France welcomed 83 million visitors. Followed by the USA with 66. 7 tourists. With 57. 5 and 57. 7 million people, Spain and China are in fourth and fifth place, respectively. With 46. 4 million visits, Italy came in sixth. In 2013, these figures revealed a slight increase of around 1 to 4 million visits in each country, except for China, which had a minor decrease of about 2 million individuals.

Tourist spending in the United States climbed from $126. 2 billion in 2012 to $139. 6 billion in 2013, more than double the amount spent in any other country. Following France, China, and Italy, Spain obtained the second biggest amount of tourist revenue, growing from $56. 3 billion to $60. 4 billion. Interestingly, despite lower tourist numbers, Chinese tourism income increased by $1. 7 billion in 2013.
