The table shows five modes of vehicles used by Australian people in 2010,2012,2014. It is noticeable that all vehicles increased during the period shown. While passenger vehicles were the most used form of transport in both years, the motorcycles saw the highest growth in use.
In 2010, there were respective 11.8 million and 2,3 million in passenger and commercial vehicles. Passenger vehicles went up by 12,7 million in 2012 before peaking at 13 million in 2014, with an overall increase of 10,2 %. The commercial vehicles shared the same upward trend by a rising total of 4 million until 2014 (translating to a 17.4% increase).
The respective starting points for three types of vehicles which less common were 540,000 motorcycles, 384,000 heavy trucks, and 106,000 light trucks. Motorcycles rose rapidly by around 30% to 709.000 in 2014. Heavy trucks gained totaling 8% which accounted for 416.000 at the end of the period. Finally, Light trucks went up by 23.5% to 131.000 in 2014.
