It's clear that female student prefer general subjects (english, modern languages, history) than core subjects (math, physics, chemistry). while non native english speaker consititude the main proportion of modern languages subjcet. By contrast, non native englisg speaker accounted for lowest percentage in history subjects. Meantime, students born outside australia who enrolled in core subjects have a familar percentage.
In 2009, female accounted for the main proportion of percentage in english subject, with the figure of 67%, followed by 63% percentage in studying moder language, and which is moderately higher than students enrolled in history, approximately 58%. however, the figures shows non native english speaker only made up under 20% in general subjects. Except for modern language, which provided 61% of whole students. Female students had a familar trend in studying different core subjects as well as non native engligh speaker, with the range of 40% to 50%.
Whatelse, students born outside australia appears an familar trend in studying general and core subjects compared with student whose first language not english. The figures shows nearly half of born outside student enrolled in modern language subject. By contast, only 11% enrolled in english and 12% enrolled in history in the same period. meanwhile, born outside australia student enrrolled core subjects were in the same level. To be species, 38% in math, 37% in physics and 35% in chemistry.
