The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled tea and pineapples in 2010 and 2015 in five European countries.
The presented tables depict information about sales prices of Fairtrade*-labelled farm products, namely pineapples and tea in five different countries within two separate years, 2010 and 2015. Units are measured millions of euros (m).
At first glance, it is immediately obvious that Austria was the best seller of both tea and pineapples among these countries in 2010. By 2015, Austria experienced a significant growth in selling pineapples and remained the best sale record, whereas in terms of tea figure France surpassed Austria and became the top seller of the tea product.
When observing the first table in more detail, we can see that in 2010, the most significant tea sales, 4 million (4m) euros were reported in Austria, and they doubled in 2015. The figure for the Netherlands was originally 50% lower than that for Austria (2m) while sales in France were slightly higher (1.8m). However, while the former remained relatively stable, the latter rose dramatically to 21m. There was little difference between the figures for Germany 2.8m) and Norway (1.8m), and both experienced slight increases to 3m and 2m, respectively.
Austria had the highest pineapple sales in both years, as they rose exactly threefold from 16 million euros to 48m. The Netherlands sales were almost as high as those of France in 2010 (1.6 and 2m, respectively) and both surged, reaching 5 and 5.6m. There was little difference between the figures for Norway and Germany (2 and 1.8m, respectively), and both witnessed a downward trend to reach point of nearly 2m.
