The tables compare Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas import by five European countries in two different terms, 1999 and 2004. These products were provided by farmers from developing countries, who have been paid an official fair cost.

According to the information given in the first table, Switzerland was the largest market for coffee in 1999 (3 million euros). However, over the span of 6 years the UK increased the coffee expenses almost 13 times, which makes it the largest contributor to coffee sales in 2004 (20 million euros). With regards remained countries, such as Denmark, Belgium and Sweden the sales volume grew slightly and accounts for 2, 1.7 and 1 million euros, respectively.
According to the second table, the highest quantity of banana sales could be observed in Switzerland in both years. Banana expenditure in the UK and Belgium witnessed a considerable rise, nearly 6 times greater than its figure in 1999. On the other hand, Sweden and Denmark indicate a minor drop in 2004 comparing to the sales volume in 1999.
