The table and chart illustrates information about reading habits of 3 groups of people aged below 30.
Overall, it is noticeable that print book is the most popular type among all age groups. Also, in 2012, the largest proportion of readers per group and the most books read on average were found in 16 to 17-year-olds.
Regarding the popularity of three types of books, the vast majority of those under 30 years old read print books (from 85 percent of the youngest to around 71 percent of the oldest). While the youngest group also has the largest proportions in audiobook and e-book (15% and 21%, respectively), the rankings for the older age groups are switched. Whereas 12% and 14% of those between 18 and 24 read audiobook and e-book, respectively, the figures for people in their late 20s are slightly higher, at 14% and 16%.
Turning to book reading habit in 2012, 90% of the youngest group read a book and they typically read 12 books. In comparison, around 80% of the two older groups read a book in 2012 and the average numbers of books for both groups stand at 11.
