Essay topics:

Task 1:The table below shows the percentage of the population by age groups in one town who rode bicycles in 2011.

the table given compares the proportion of inhabitants who rode bicycles by age groups and genders in one town during 2011.
overall, it can be clearly seen that there were more girls and boys who used bicycles aged between 0 and 9 compared to that of other age groups. furthermore, in each group, females tend to cycle more than their counterparts throughout the mentioned period.
in the youngest age group, almost half of children used bicycles with a slight difference in the rate of two genders. these proportions had a considerable change in the 10-17 age group when the percentage of female cyclists fell to 42%, while the rate of men reduced by half ( about 24%). this downward trend went on in the group of people aged between 18 and 39, with 17% for girls and 20% for boys.
cycling was the least common in the middle age group, which had the lowest proportion of female and male bicyclists compared to other age groups (with 12 % and 8% respectively). however, these figures then rose significantly in the older group, with the former making up 19% and the latter reaching 14%.
