The given three charts illustrate the data about the three different coffee sectors: Production, Consumption, and Distribution of profits, around the world.
Overall, South Africa and Europe are the key players in the coffee production and consumption markets, respectively. Despite the producers playing a crucial role in the coffee supply chain, they receive a small portion of the profits, with delivery services capturing the majority share.
In terms of production, South Africa is the most prominent producer, accounting for 44% of the total coffee production and Indonesia’s production is half of that. Japan and Vietnam contribute 18% and 16%, respectively.
When it comes to consumption, Europe is the leading consumer, representing 41% of global coffee intake, and America is a close second, consuming 39%. Japan needs to import only 8% of the coffee, as it is also a coffee producer. The rest of the world consumes just over a tenth of the coffee.
The pie profit distribution in the coffee market is illustrated in the third pie chart. Half of the total profit is earned by the delivery sector, whereas the retailers earn almost a quarter of the profits. A tenth of the profits go to the exporters and remaining 15% profits are earned by the production sector.
