the trend of owning electronical appliances and the average weekly amount that households in one nation spent on doing housework

The line graphs show the trend of owning electronical appliances and the average weekly amount that households in one nation spent on doing housework in the period of 100 years.

It is clear that there were significant changes in both the proportion of families using electronical appliances and the amount of time they spent on doing chores over the 100-year period. While the percentage of ownership of all three appliances has risen steadily, the amount of time that those who spent on doing housework has witnessed a considerable drop.

In 1920, the figure for households with washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners were roughly 40, 2 and 30 percent respectively. Over of following 60 years, the respective proportions of families these machines increase singnificantly to approximatly 65, 100 and 90 percents. By contrast, the number of hours of doing housework has saw a significant decrease by around 35 hours, stood at 15 hours in 1980.

From 1980 to 2019, whilst there were steady up-ward trends in terms of the ratio of households using washing machine and vacuum cleaner, the figure for refregerator remained relatively stable. Finally, in 2019, the quantily of families using both refregerator and vacuum cleaner stood at 100 percents and the figure for washing machine was just above 70 percents after a long fluctuating period. Furthermore, the amount of time people devoted to do housework fell slightly to about 10 hours over the same 40-year period.
