The two pie charts depict the modes of communication used in 1962 and 1982. Overall it would be appropriate to say the most significant shift of communication was from letter to the phone. While computer usage was doubled but didn't accounted for the majority of the usage in both years.
In 1962, the most popular mode of interaction was by letter which occupied 50% of usage. While in 1982 phone was the most common medium of communication having 60% which out numbered the letter and computer in significant manner.
On the other hand, in the 1962, computer was least used compared to all the three at only 15%. Analysing in the year 1982, the letter usage was drastically reduced and accounted to only 10% of usage in overall means of communication.
It is clear that due to advancement of technology, people have mostly shifted to the electronic means of interaction instead of written communication which used to be main .
