Generally, during this period, annual expenditure spend increased in all 5 countries. Among them, Australian spending was by far the highest number as opposed to the lowest in China.
In 1996, Chinese spent the least money visiting with New Zealand with approximately 50 NZ$ per visitor whereas the Australian afforded 1050 NZ$ that is 21 times larger than Chinese. The other 3 countries had the spending above 400NZ$ including around 450NZ$ in UK and Japan, 750NZ$ in USA.
In the next period, the expenditure fluctuated among countries. In 2004, total money afforded by Chinese exceeded that of the UK. However, until 2014, China turned back to the country spending less travelling New Zealand with only 400NZ$ per visitor and Australia was the most generous spender who pay up to 2000NZ$ annually for for New Zealand visits.
