The maps below show the changes in a town after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam.
Write at least 150 words.
The map illustrates the change that have taken place in a town after the hydroelectric power dam was built from 1990 to 2010.
Most noticeably, the once forest, and ancient structure in the North Western and the mountain in the North Eastern of the town has now been transformed in to lake, hydroelectric dam and hotel. The increased number of power poles over the period indicate the significant rise to the town energy usage.
In 1990, there was a river in the middle of the town. On the left side of the river, there was a rare plants and animal’s area, next to that portion was the ancient structure. There also a forest and mountain on the upstream on each side. On the right side of the river, there was an irrigated farmland and a village next to it.
Turning to the present scenario, the river now has been cut down into haft. With the addition of the lake on the North area and a hydroelectric dam in front of it, is can be seen that the town are now changed to be able to create power. Irrigated farmland is replaced by the hotel. The villages are now located near the river. There are power poles next to the villages. They also appear on the left side of the river.
