You have been to a business meeting at another company and saw a piece of equipment which can be useful for your company too. Write a letter to your manager about the following:
Describe the piece of equipment you have seen
Why having the same equipment would be useful for your company
Offer your assistance in buying the equipment
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to inform you the recent meeting was a success. While visiting our partners, I noticed an interesting device that may be useful for our company.
It is a usb-transmitter that turns a regular laser printer into a wi-fi one. The item is relatively small and has a size of a matchbox; moreover, it is energy efficient and consumes less electricity than a cell-phone. The transmitter requires no maintenance and begins work automatically after the equipment is plugged into a usb port of a printer.
From a conversation with my counterpart in the host company, I learned they have been exploiting this miraculous technology for a couple of years by now. That allowed them to reduce the number of printers used from one hundred and twenty to sixty because each one may be easily used by several employees. Consequently, the firm has approximately saved up to fifty thousand dollars on maintenance.
This item is being produced by a small local firm and it is literally impossible to buy the device outside the country. Admittedly, the price on them is reasonable and one piece costs about 25 dollars. If you see the idea of buying several such items as worthy, I can quickly purchase the needed number. I also may take the contacts of the company that sells those devices to phone them later if we decide to purchase more of the transmitters.
I am waiting for your prompt response,
Sincerely yours,
Eugene Dubinchuk.
