The bar graph compares three different types of phone calls, namely local line, national and international line, and mobiles in terms of the amount of time spent by the people in the United Kingdom over the course of 8 years.
Overall, it is obvious that both local line and mobiles experienced an upward trend in the number of minutes for calling, throughout the period shown. While national and international line fluctuated but still remained the highest figures.
According to the chart, mobiles were the least using telephone in the UK. In 1995, it stood at considerably under 10 billion of minutes, compared to slightly below 40 billion of national or international phone calls. The figures for mobile's calling rose dramatically from under 10 billion to around 45 billion in 2002. Similarly, there was a considerable rise in the minute number of the national and international line with nearly 60 billion in the last year.
In comparison, a fluctuation was seen in the local line's calling minutes within 8 years. The figures grew slowly by 1999 then had a stable fall in the following years. The amount of time spent on the local line reached its peak at approximately 90 billion in 1999, which was at least 2 times higher than the others.
