A friend who lives in another country has invited you to come and stay with him/her on your next holiday. You are too busy to accept the invitation. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
Thank him/her for invitation,
Explain why you cannot come
Ask him/her about other times to visit
Dear Alice,
How are you? I'm glad to receive your letter last night and thanks a lot for inviting me over. spending some time with you and visiting your town could certainly make my winter holiday interesting. However, I would not be able to visit you this month.
my parents are coming down to see me end of this week and they will stay until next month. they have already booked the flight. So, I am afraid I won't be able to leave the house anytime soon! they were waiting to spend the Christmas vacation with me for a long time.
I am really sorry that I am putting you down. When can I visit you, if not this month? I am available after the New Year's Eve and would be happy to visit you over during any weekends.
I caught a cold due to the weather change, other than that everything else is going great! I hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers,
Shahla
