Dear Sam,
I am so excited with your decision to pursue Masters of Science in Computer Science field. I have studied same from New York University and will be happy to give you some information about it as well as tips.
First of all, let me tell you about few important courses that I have taken in my time. The most important one is Data-structures and algorithms from professor Arton. In programming world, this is being used widely and you need to have better grasp on this topic. Other than that I would recommand taking lectures about programming in python and introduction to operating systems.
I will highly recommand New York University as its Computer Science course is immaculate and highly recognized by everyone. Nevertheless, they rank in top 10 for their course work in Computer Science field. Professors are really helpful and they go above and beyond to help their students.
Lastly, few things I would like to mention about applying for their program. You need to send application fee which is $50 along with your transcript of bachelors before March 15th for fall term. They scutinize last moment applications so sending application before deadline of 15th April is wise decision.
If you need any help in the process, do let me know.
Take care.
Love,
Sagar Chokshi
P.S. Hope to see you soon here with me. I wish you had made this decision sooner and we would have been studying together.
