Essay topics:

Mrs Barrett, an English-speaking woman who lives in your town, has advertised for someone to help her in her home for a few hours a day next summer.
Write a letter to Mrs Barrett. In your letter
• suggest how you could help her in her home
• say why you would like to do this work
• explain when you will and will not be available

Dear Mrs. Barrett,

I am writing to let you know that I am a potential candidate for your house helper position next summer. As doing house chores can sometimes be quite a time-consuming and exhausting experience, I am confident that with my energetic and hard-working personality, I will be able to be at your service whenever you need me.

Currently, I am learning and practicing my English, and being able to have a part-time job during the summer is an ideal opportunity for me to keep improving my English communication proficiency. In addition, I am more than happy to earn a little bit more money using my free summer time to cover the cost of living and other expenses.

Since I am a full-time student, I will be available for most of the day in the summer period; this includes any public holidays or special event days. There is only one exception: Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm. My badminton class runs every week so that I will be occupied.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours faithfully,

Henry
