Hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. Firstly I am sorry for not being able to attend your birthday celebration as I had to travel overseas.
To elucidate as you are aware that my reporting manager has resigned on short notice and hence the company management has given some additional responsibilities to me for interim duration till they find a suitable replacement thus it has led to an increase of work pressure in the past few weeks. Since I was in China for a business conference last week I totally forgot to communicate with you and hence missed your birthday party.
hence I would like to apologize for it and would like to host a party at my residence where I will be inviting all my friends. it will be a great opportunity to meet our old friends and on the other hand, celebrate your birthday.
I look forward to your response and seeing you soon.
