Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plant and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In recent years there has been a considerable rise in the number of problems related to our environment. Although, few individuals think that nowadays the major environmental issue is the extinction of specific flora and fauna species , others believe that there are more significant problems. In my opinion, I think that the other problems such as global warming are more vital.
On the one hand, it is thought by few that the biggest environment related problem in recent times is the loss of particular animals and plants species because they sometime plays an important role in the ecosystem. In other words, such species can be the source of survival for others. For example, a recent research done by the students of Oxford University stated that in 2015, in the Amazon forest, the loss of a particular plant specie lead to the extinction of 30 animal species because it was their source of food. Thus, it is considered as a major environmental problem.
On the other hand, many people think that there are other environmental issues like global warming which are more important and I agree. As in our time due to this problem there are severe and unpredicted floods, rainfalls and thunderstorms which are potentially affecting farmers and other people. For instance, a recent Journal produced by Times Magazine stated that in Pakistan, approximately 2000 farmers lost 20 million dollars of crop due to heavy flood in the summer of 2018 which was mainly due to global warming.
In conclusion, while people think the biggest environmental issue is the loss of specific flora and fauna species, however, I consider that the other issues like global warming are more significant.
