There is a problem with the road outside of your house.
Write a letter to your local councillor.
In your letter:
introduce yourself
explain what the problem is
tell the councillor what you would like to be done
You should write at least 150 words.
You should spend no more than 20 minutes on this task
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in reference to a problem with Dickens Street, Melton in the council of Stoningworth. I am a resident of Dickens street, and have lived in the bluestone house on the corner of Dickens and Melrose for seven years.
After last week’s major storm, the stormwater pipe running from Melrose to Dickens burst, causing the road to flood. An emergency crew was called which came and fixed the pipe, stopping the flood. However, after the water drained away, it became clear that some damage was done to the road surrounding the drain area. There is now a large pothole where drain water and rainwater has collected. Many cars have accidentally driven over the hole not realising how deep it was and they have done damage to their cars as a result.
I request that you send a construction crew to place a warning sign in front of the pothole to warn drivers until the issue is resolved. I also suggest that the problem is fixed as soon as possible to avoid further damage to the road, and to people’s cars.
Yours faithfully,
Richard Bast
