Write a letter to a city planning manager about the demolition of a historical building in your area.

In your letter, you should:

· explain why it shouldn’t be demolished.

· suggest a future use for this building.

· recommend a way to raise money for repairs.

Dear Mr. Smith,

As you are the Planning Manager for West Delhi so I am writing this suggestion letter to you regarding an old building in the area where I live. This building is a historic church constructed in 1902, and the city's municipal committee is planning to demolish this old structure to clear land for an upcoming shopping complex. Being a century old, the church has a rich history and this was one of the famous churches of the British rule in India. Therefore this historical building must have preservation orders.

Alternatively, the building can be used as a museum. As the place has already available furniture from the past and with a minor effort on the renovation of some of the damaged infrastructure, the building can be put into use as a history museum. Being in the city center assures the popularity of the upcoming museum in visitors.

The funding surely can be a problem for this project as the government is cost-cutting on city development budgets. However, the city council can easily mortgage the property for construction-related cost and then set a ticket price for visitors once the museum is ready, and this ticket amount can be utilized to pay back the mortgage.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yours faithfully,

Harinder
