You and your family are living in rental accommodation in an English-speaking country. You are not satisfied with the condition of some of the furniture.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter,
1. introduce yourself
2. explain what is wrong with the furniture
3. say what action you would like the landlord to take
Dear Sir,
I am extremely dissatisfied with the furniture in our rental house. I am writing this letter to express my complaints and request you to take measures to tackle the issues.
I am a Chinese tourist, and we are taking a vacation in Melbourne. I was informed by my friend that your accommodation is a comfortable place to live in, so I resided in the house with my family yesterday. However, I could scarcely believe that the condition of some furniture is deplorable. First of all, there are various spider cracks and severe cracks on the mirrors. Additionally, the dinner table is unstable, and it vibrates frequently when having meals, which interferes with our dining experience. The windows in my bedroom are not soundproof. As a consequence, we are affected dreadfully by traffic noises and find it difficult to fall asleep.
I would like you to send a craftsman to my place and fix the table and mirrors on this week. Besides, I also ask you to replace the windows with soundproof ones that can isolate noises. I hope that the situation will be dealt with as soon as possible. If you require further information, you can contact me by email.
Yours sincerely,
David.
