You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
- Give details of your study plans
- Explain why you want to get a part-time job
- Suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Andrew,
Hope you are doing great. I need your help to find a part-time job in your country.
I'm travelling to Canada next month to pursue higher education in computer science and technology stream. It's a two-year degree programme sponsored by Alberta University to selected candidates.
The institute has offered to finance 50% of the course fee, but the rest is still a problem for me. I'm considering to work in the evenings to save money for my remaining academics fees. It will be a great relief for my family as they will be able to spend money on my younger brother's higher education.
Can you ask your uncle who owns multiple stores in Calgary if they need any store attendant? You mentioned that he is very generous, so I hope he may be able to extend his help. Otherwise, I'll have to struggle hard to find a job along with my studies.
Do write to me as you hear back from him. I'll wait for your reply and look forward to cherishing new moments with you again.
Best regards,
Tom
