You had a dinner with your friend’s family. Write a letter to your friend and express your feelings about the dinner.
In your letter you should say:
• What you enjoyed at the dinner
• Describe how you feel about his/her family
• Invite your friend and his family to your place
Dear Thomas,
I remember the time when we first met in the premises of university of Toronto. I am grateful to you for helping me at that moment as I was new to the country. I am writing this letter to express my joy over last week’s dinner that you beautifully arranged for me and my family.
There were so many elements about the dinner that I admired a lot. I must say that my parents heartily enjoyed the get together. Your dining hall gave me a very warm and cosy feeling in this freezing weather, specially, the way the room was lightened up with dim yet glittering lights. The atmosphere you managed to create gave us a very homely feeling. The Canadian food was a true delight. The desserts were mouth-watering. Moreover, I no longer feel like a foreigner now because of your loving gesture.
Being an immigrant, we really miss our family parties, as in India we have the culture of mixing up more with our near ones. It was nice on your family’s part to mingle so well with us even on our first meet. They were really supportive of the fact that we belonged to a very different culture. Infact, they seemed very happy to have us over for the dinner. I am greatly over-whelmed with our and respective families friendship.
I won’t say as matter of returning favours, but I and my family genuinely want you to come and join us for the New Year Eve. We will have bonfire, wine with Indian delicacies and not to forget, long sessions of gossips at my place.
I am looking forward for a positive reply of my proposal and eagerly waiting for your response.
Best Wishes
Udita
